People in the west have a general habit of wasting way too much food. It’s a terrible practice that insults the impoverished global community who must use everything they have in order to survive. The question that needs to be asked is,“why would anyone waste a perfectly fresh apple?” Is it human nature to discard food if one is not immediately hungry? I certainly believe it is not, or else we would have become extinct many winters ago. I think it may have something to do with modern society and the abundance of cheap, mass produced food. The urban community in both China and the west should do something to change it.

　　西方国家的人们习惯性地浪费食物,这种习惯只会导致全人类不断地攫取任何资源地生存下去。不得不问一句：“为什么要浪费一个如此新鲜的苹果呢？”难道人们不饿就要浪费食物？答案显然是否定的，否则远古时代的冬季人类就已经消亡。这与发达的现代社会和丰富的食物供应有关。中国和西方国家的城市都应该为此而想办法作出改变。
